Victoria, 25 years old at the start
Having been immersed in creative activities since I was little and employed as a graphic designer/web designer, I lacked meaning but above all a manual.
When I launched Gossypium in April 2023, I had lots of ideas in mind: to create items from natural materials, putting cotton at the heart of my creations. I first focused on simple and useful objects, like reusable makeup remover kits or cotton pads. It was in the air of the times: products designed for a more ecological daily life, which met a real demand.
But over time, and especially thanks to my passion for decoration, Gossypium evolved. I started creating homewares, such as quilts and cushions, which allowed me to explore an even more creative universe. It was in this process that my very first punch needle cushion was born, a craft technique that changed everything for me.

What is punch needle?
Punch needle is a hand embroidery technique that involves embroidering threads into a stretched canvas to create raised patterns using a needle. This is called "punching". This work, halfway between embroidery and weaving, gives a unique texture and brings a lot of character to each creation. It is a method that requires time, precision and a real love of handcraft.
Combining know-how and creativity
I have not abandoned machine sewing, which remains essential in my work. It ensures solid and clean finishes, while allowing me to combine craftsmanship and practicality. With punch needle, I found a way to add a more artistic dimension to my articles, and it is this combination of techniques that makes Gossypium's signature today.
I continue to explore new ideas, always with the same desire to create objects that are beautiful, practical and durable. My goal is simple: to offer unique pieces that embellish everyday life and reflect my love for natural materials and handmade work.
